The TMO classroom has had a very busy Fall! There is so much going on. The children are having fun spending their mornings together and enjoying this lovely weather we have been having.
The large Lego blocks have been a very popular addition on the playground. The children use all of their small muscles putting the blocks together to build towers, then joyfully knock them down.
The children loved “sledding” in movement class and really enjoyed the activity.
The sand table has been an area that really draws the children. Here they can pour, measure and work together filling, sifting and emptying containers. It provides sensory stimulation which helps them to learn about their environment.
We have been preparing for Christmas by making decorations, using handprints, glitter and dot- dot markers. The children enjoy creating their works of art. We display around the classroom so the children can see what they have created. They like to point out their own and each other’s handiwork.
We have been talking about Christmas and have a small Christmas tree that the children can decorate. They have really enjoyed placing the ornaments on the tree and moving the ornaments around. We listen to the Vince Guaraldi Christmas CD (A Charlie Brown Christmas). The music sets the tone for the children to prepare for the Christmas season. We have an animated Rudolph that the children have loved at circle time, Rudolph sings his song and some of the children attempt to sing along. All have been fascinated by it!
We have so enjoyed the past few months. The children have grown so much and are learning something new every day. We wish you and your family a most blessed Christmas and a happy New Year! We look forward to getting back together in 2016! See you January the 5th!
