I hope everyone is enjoying playing in the snow! Hopefully warmer days are coming.
Please join your children in welcoming Sailor Logan to our class. Sailor joined the class in January. She is adjusting very well to our routine and we are delighted to have her with us!
We have had fun transforming the TMO room into a winter wonderland. We painted snowflakes using watercolors, and we used textured paintbrushes to paint “snow” on paper.
We introduced play dough to the children and they loved making snowballs and snowmen. Cookie cutters were great for making different shapes in the play dough. This is a great sensory experience and it is also great for the development of their small muscles and for encouraging imaginative play.
The children had a great time exploring the colored blocks on our light table. Many simply liked looking at the light through the blocks while others built tall towers. This activity is great for color recognition, spatial relationships and just plain fun!
More and more your children are using their words. How they have grown since September! Keep reading to your little ones to encourage their language development. Some of the books we’ve enjoyed reading this month are The Mitten, A Valentine for Elmo, and Snowmen at Night.
As always, thank you for sharing your little ones with us.
