Spring is definitely in the air in the TMO Wednesday class.
Our art area has been busy with so many different art activities. For St. Patrick’s Day, the children painted shamrocks and for the Easter season, they painted paper Easter eggs. Painting on the easel has been a favorite activity. Hard as it was, the children did a great job waiting patiently until it was their turn.
The sensory bin was filled with shredded colored paper where the children had fun finding the ducks and Easter eggs hidden there. An unexpectedly appealing activity was pulling the paper out and putting it back in.
We have had some wonderful spring mornings for our outside time. The children are becoming great climbers on the slide and fire truck. We also have been observing and talking about the signs of spring including the new leaves on the trees and the flowers blooming in the garden.
In our book area, we have many books about springtime. Some of the books we have been reading are, Wake up, It’s Spring by Lisa Ernst, Little Cloud by Eric Carle and God Gave Us Easter by Lisa Bergren.
In the science area we have spring flowers which the children can smell and investigate with a magnifying glass.
Music time continues to be a favorite part of our morning and some of the children are starting to participate and sing along with Dawn. The children are very curious about the various instruments that they are given to explore and are becoming quite the musicians!
As a reminder, we will have conferences on Thursday, April, 21. You will have school as usual on Wednesday the 20th. Be on the lookout for sign up coming home. It is such a joy to watch your children grow and change in so many ways!
