Spring is in the air in the TMO room. The children have been busy sorting plastic Easter eggs and colored bears, further solidifying their color recognition skills. They have also enjoyed painting colorful paper Easter eggs and hunting for eggs and ducks in the sensory bin.
The beautiful spring mornings have been wonderful for our outdoor time. The children have become great climbers on both the slide and the fire truck. The sand area is a favorite place to shovel sand, make birthday cakes and load dump trucks.
Decorating bunny ears with dot dot markers was a big hit and the children were eager to wear their ears and hop around the classroom like bunnies.
Our book area has many books about spring. Some of the books we have been reading are Wake up It’s Spring by Lisa Ernst, God Gave Us Easter by Lisa Bergren and Little Cloud by Eric Carle. The children are always attentive at circle time and look forward to story time.
The peg boards have allowed the children to work together to build tall towers as well as reinforce colors. It is also a fun way to stimulate their creativity as well as enhance their manipulative skills.
As a reminder, we will have conferences on Thursday, April 21. There will be a chance to sign up for a convenient time to meet to discuss your child’s progress as we get closer.
As always thank you for sharing your little ones with us.
