Jan Locher has been a member at St. Stephen’s Church for 24 years. She has served as a Catechist and remains active in this area of service to young children at St. Stephen’s which also extends to the children within the Preschool.
Jan earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Richmond and Master’s of Teaching from Mary Baldwin College. She is a native of Suffolk, Va but now calls Richmond her home.
Her educational career spans from St. Catherine’s School, to Maybeury Elementary School and finally to St. Stephen’s Preschool where she served in the Yellow Room as a Lead 5-Day Teacher. Jan is married to Michael and they have 3 children all who attended St. Stephen’s Preschool. Jan enjoys daily walks, time with her family, reading and working with young children.
Jan is a member of RAD (Richmond Area Directors), RECA (Richmond Early Childhood Association), NAC (National Accreditation Commission) and NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). St. Stephen’s is accredited through NAC.
Administration and School Support
Suzie Hendricks is originally from Brooklyn, NY and New Canaan, CT. She graduated from the University of Richmond and afterwards decided to make Richmond her home. She spent 20 years in the mortgage business before she turned to teaching. She taught Science to young children through ‘Young Scientists’ all over the Richmond area before joining St. Stephen’s Preschool. She has three children and two rescue dogs. Suzie enjoys time with her family, the beach, hiking and fostering dogs. She also enjoys running/walking and cooking.
