Marion has been the Director of St. Stephen’s Preschool since January 2001. Prior to that, she was the Director of Richmond Child Development Center, The Ellwood House, which she co-founded in 1982.
Earlier in her career, she began a tutoring agency, Educational Associates and taught middle school science before that. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Randolph-Macon Women’s College.
Marion is the mother of two, John Cabell and Elizabeth, and a grandmother of Cabell and Lacey. She and her husband, Cabell, enjoy their children and grandchildren, their cottage on the Rappahannock river, Camp Greenbrier where they spend summers, and traveling.
With a lifelong interest in education and church, Marion spends her volunteer time primarily with St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and with the Steward School and St. Andrew’s School, on whose Boards she now serves.
Kay joined the St. Stephen’s Preschool team in 2016. Her three children all went through the program.
She received her BS in Business Administration from The University of Tennessee, moved to Richmond with NCR Corporation in 1986 and earned her MBA from University of Richmond in 1993. She has worked in tourism, industrial computer graphics, and in 2007 created a home staging company.
Kay serves on the board at SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), sings in the St. James’s Parish Choir, enjoys playing tennis, and volunteers with various non-profit organizations. She and her husband, William, have three teenagers.
