Jan Locher has been a member at St. Stephen’s Church for 24 years. She has served as a Catechist and remains active in this area of service to young children at St. Stephen’s which also extends to the children within the Preschool.
Jan earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Richmond and Master’s of Teaching from Mary Baldwin College. She is a native of Suffolk, Va but now calls Richmond her home.
Her educational career spans from St. Catherine’s School, to Maybeury Elementary School and finally to St. Stephen’s Preschool where she served in the Yellow Room as a Lead 5-Day Teacher. Jan is married to Michael and they have 3 children all who attended St. Stephen’s Preschool. Jan enjoys daily walks, time with her family, reading and working with young children.
Jan is a member of RAD (Richmond Area Directors), RECA (Richmond Early Childhood Association), NAC (National Accreditation Commission) and NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). St. Stephen’s is accredited through NAC.
Kay joined the St. Stephen’s Preschool team in 2016. Her three children all went through the program.
She received her BS in Business Administration from The University of Tennessee, moved to Richmond with NCR Corporation in 1986 and earned her MBA from University of Richmond in 1993. She has worked in tourism, industrial computer graphics, and in 2007 created a home staging company.
Kay serves on the board at SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), sings in the St. James’s Parish Choir, enjoys playing tennis, and volunteers with various non-profit organizations. She and her husband, William, have three teenagers.
