Each 5-Day class had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a dramatization of the Dr. Seuss story “Horton Hatches the Egg” lead by two actors from the Virginia Repertory Theater. A sheet with follow-up questions about the experience was sent home in tote bags on Wednesday.
Maizy flew in and left her egg with Horton while she went on vacation.
While Horton sat on his egg the children used their imaginations to travel to different places. Each time they went someplace new they held onto the imagination blanket and closed their eyes and counted to 10.
While the children went to different areas Horton had to stay on his egg!
At the end Cat and the Hat came to visit and read “Horton Hatches the Egg”. Then the egg hatched 16 elephant birds. Each child turned into an elephant bird and flew around the room but as you can imagine elephant birds are fast, too fast for a good picture!
