The Monday-Tuesday Purple Room class is in full swing. Successful separation and transitions are two of our goals at this time. Most of your children are now easily separating from you, knowing they can count on the routines we have established. Even when there are some tears, they are brief. Transitioning from one activity to another is always a time that can be difficult, so we give the children plenty of warning and remind them of what is coming next.
We start our day on the playground (weather permitting) or in the movement room when it rains.
During choice time, the children are engaged in dramatic play, art, sensory experiences such as play dough and the sand table, block play and a variety of individual activities designed to stimulate their thinking or to exercise their fine motor skills.
Last week we made and then ate applesauce at snack.
The Teeny Tiny farm is coming on October 20, so mark your calendar and be sure to bring your child for a visit that day. We will read books about farms and animals before then.
Thank you for sharing your children with us. Every day it is blessing to be with them and a pleasure to teach them!
