The 5-Day classes are busy exploring Valentine’s inspired activities and the post office. We focus on the post office since that's how the Valentine’s Day cards will be delivered to you. The children bought stamps in the blue room post office, addressed their envelopes and on Friday each class will take a trip to the mailbox across the street to send their Valentine’s Day card to you.
On Tuesday, we will have Red Day in honor of Valentine’s Day. The children are invited to wear red and bring in red snack to share in the snack room. We will also exchange Valentine Day cards in each room.
Slime made a comeback in the Aqua Room this week. We were excited to see the children incorporate large arm movements as they worked to pick up and stretch the slime. These movements assist in building their gross motor skills.
The children have been digging for sweet treats in the sensory bin. By using tongs to grab the small objects they’re strengthening the same muscles in their hands that are used to grip a pencil properly.
The Blue Room has been very busy writing letters and running the post office. They have really enjoyed sorting and delivering the mail the last couple of weeks. The interaction and conversations between the children have been so exciting to hear.
Our hearts are growing as we get ready for Valentine's Day. The children have a choice to create a heart by using a tracer and Pom-Pom dipped in paint. The pinching of the Pom Pom is a great way to strengthen hand muscles!!
In the Yellow Room, the children are playing tic-tac-toe which fosters their strategic thinking skills.
They have been rubbing big coins and the children can choose to label them with the name of the coin.
