Last week, the children loved reading and exploring “The Three Billy Goats Gruff”. This week, we are focusing on Dr. Seuss in honor of his birthday on March 2nd.
We had fun being wacky today and making green eggs! Will you eat them???
Last week the children built bridges using foam blocks and shaving cream as mortar. They used paint brushes (and their hands, because squishing shaving cream between their fingers is basically irresistible) to spread the “mortar” and designed some pretty cool bridges.
This week we scrambled, cooked, and dined on green eggs. Many ate them here and there. Others said they wouldn't eat them anywhere!
Last week there was a lot of head butting in the Blue room and it was all in fun. The children were able to reenact the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff complete with masks, horn hats, and of course the all important bridge.
This week our focus for dramatic play has shifted to Dr.Seuss, the Lorax and truffle trees. Once again the children can retell the story using props and pretend to protect and care for the trees.
We have been having so much fun with the 3 Billy Goats Gruff story in the green room! The kids have had the choice to use those fine motor skills by creating their very own goat horns to wear!!
We have learned about Chihuly and his amazing glass art works! The kids have been creating their own beautiful pieces of artwork inspired by Chihuly. We will begin hanging these wonderful works in the hallway soon...come check in to check it out!
The children enjoyed creating a 3-D, Three Billy Goats Gruff scene in the Yellow Room.
The children have also been matching the letter to the picture that has the same beginning sound.
The children have also learned a SSP math game called chip trading.
